Born and raised in Colombia, Juliana moved to London at 18 to attend John Cass School of Art, then Byam Shaw – St Martin’s where she took a B.A. in Fine Art. Juliana has Exhibited in Rio de Janeiro, London, Bath, Saint-Tropez – and, in Moscow, at three renowned art venues: the Artplay, the Beliaevo, and the International Fund for Slavic Literature and Culture.

In the 1990s, Juliana taught Fine Art at Universidad de los Andes in Bogota for three years, then lived in Mexico for another three years where she explored ceramics: learning new techniques, experimenting with local themes, colours, and textures.

During the 2000s, Juliana lived in Moscow where she she had an extraordinarily prolific period, and sell-out exhibitions. In 2010, she again, radically changed her environment and cultural influences, relocating to rural England, near Bath where she still lives and works, and where she has found space in nature in which to capture the essence of the self. However, for months each year, she returns to her native Colombia, its diversity, its landscapes. Soto’s work reflects the rich and varied cultural influences of her wanderings
